FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HONOLULU, HAWAII – May 28, 2013 - Keiki O Ka Aina (KOKA) is proud to announce their new website as well as their latest year-round fundraising initiative the Laulima Giving Program. KOKA.org launched on May 28th and features an updated, clean design that is user-friendly and delivers easily accessible resources, schedules, and program and enrollment information. The Laulima Giving Program assists underprivileged families, elderly and individuals through donations and more.

Along with a calendar of upcoming events, the KOKA.org homepage displays a news feed to the latest projects and developments with Keiki O Ka Aina. The site features detailed information on each of their programs as well as tips sectioned into Keiki – children’s programs, Ohana – family programs and Nohona – cultural programs. There is also information to volunteer with and donate to KOKA. Visitors to the site will see an easy enrollment form for free programs, community resources as well as detailed information on KOKA. A separate enrollment page is also available for the preschool, including tuition and fees.

“Our new website portrays the life and spirit that we, the ohana here, know Keiki O Ka Aina to be,” said Momi Akana, Executive Director. “Our personality shines through and aside from providing comprehensive information on the organization and programs, the website expresses our passion and commitment to the Native Hawaiian community.”

Social media is incorporated throughout the site, linking to the organization’s Facebook and Twitter accounts. Updated information can be found on both Facebook and Twitter regarding events past and present.

Keiki O Ka Aina (KOKA) is a non-profit corporation that focuses on educating children, strengthening families, enriching communities and perpetuating culture. In 2007, they received national attention as the recipient of ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, which built two structures for the KOKA offices and Executive Director’s home.

The Laulima Giving Program focuses on serving those in need with campaigns throughout the year. Campaigns include a National Back-to-School Drive, Donation Dollar Vouchers and their most popular initiative the Adopt-A-Family Holiday, which provides families with Christmas presents, food, household goods and monetary donations. Over $31,000 was raised in 2012 for Adopt-A-Family alone. Those assisted by the overall program include children with special needs, families affected by incarceration and single parents.
