HO‘OMAKUA

Servicing and Mentoring Young Incarcerated Fathers

Ho’omakua (To Parent) program seeks to empower our young incarcerated fathers. Our first contact with them is in the classroom by facilitating 12 sessions from the Inside/Out Dad curriculum and 6 sessions from Botvin Life Skills Transitions Curriculum. We also seek to engage and support their families while incarcerated to assist in removing barriers that may inhibit our client’s transition back into their family and community. Upon release, we take on a case manager’s role by linking them up with appropriate services and match them with trained mentors.
